Digital Radio UK has launched a new on air campaign communicating how listeners can enjoy their favourite stations with digital radio at home, out and about, and in their car as the easing of restrictions sees a welcome return to more activities.
The campaign launches alongside the next stage in the Government’s road map out of lockdown with a return to outdoor meetings and local travel, and suggests examples of activities now permitted, highlighting that digital radio provides the perfect accompanying soundtrack, whether at home, out and about or in the car, with content to match all occasions and multiple ways to listen.
The new 30 second spots will run across national and local commercial radio stations from Monday 29 March to Sunday 25 April 2021, and encourage listeners to join radio’s digital revolution by listening on their smart speaker, smartphone or DAB digital radio.
Digital Radio UK recorded the ads remotely with award-wining audio production company, Fresh Air Production, and with voice-over artist, Vicki Blight.
Ford Ennals CEO Digital Radio UK, said: “It’s fitting that the new digital radio Spring campaign launches this week as it marks the easing of the lockdown restrictions and shows how digital radio can lift your mood, whether dancing around the kitchen, entertaining alfresco, or taking the kids out in the car. The campaign encourages listeners to join Radio’s Digital Revolution and highlights the unbeatable breadth and diversity of the range of digital stations available.”
The number of national digital stations has now expanded to more than 50 stations available on DAB/DAB+ with the number of national commercial stations having grown to 46, with recent new station launches including Boom Radio, Union JACK Dance, Union JACK Rock and Capital Dance. All these national stations, and hundreds of local stations, are also available on smart speakers, online and via app along with podcasts, playlists and programmes on demand.
