Global has expanded some of its biggest radio brands – Heart, Capital XTRA and Smooth – launching five brand-new national digital stations over the past week – Heart 90s, Heart 70s, Capital XTRA Reloaded, Smooth Country and Smooth Chill.

Following the hugely successful launch of Heart Dance in June and the incredible success of Heart 80s, we wanted to surprise and delight our listeners and customers and launch 5 new stations back to back. They’re already sounding fantastic, triggering memories and feel good emotions all across the UK.”
Heart 90s, Heart 70s and Capital XTRA Reloaded are all national DAB stations across the UK on Digital One, and nationally across multiple platforms on Global Player including the Global Player app, on smart speakers and on desktop.
Smooth Country is on DAB across London, Manchester and the South, and nationally across multiple platforms on Global Player including the Global Player app, on smart speakers and on desktop.
Smooth Chill is on DAB across London, and nationally across multiple platforms on Global Player including the Global Player app, on smart speakers and on desktop.
Part of Global’s brand-led strategy, the new stations sit within Global’s brand strategy, complementing and enhancing Global’s brands and focusing on a particular era or genre of music.
Heart, which is the UK’s biggest commercial radio brand with 9.7m weekly listeners, adds Heart 90s and Heart 70s to its family of brands, with Heart 90s playing feel-good 90s tunes and Heart 70s playing feel-good hits from the decade.
The latest stations from Heart follow the launch of Heart Dance and Heart 80s, with the full Heart brand line-up now comprising Heart, Heart 90s, Heart 80s, Heart 70s, Heart Dance and Heart extra.
Capital XTRA has launched Capital XTRA Reloaded, dedicated to playing non-stop old skool hip-hop, grime, garage, dance and RnB anthems, while Smooth has launched two brand new stations, Smooth Country and Smooth Chill.
Smooth Country celebrates the very best in country music hits and Smooth Chill plays the ultimate relaxing soundtrack of non-stop chill-out music.
