Fun Kids launches eight new radio stations

Children’s radio station Fun Kids has today launched eight new online radio services, including a classical music radio station for children, Fun Kids Classical, with virtuoso pianist Lang Lang as the station’s Ambassador.

The line-up of new Fun Kids stations also includes Fun Kids Animals, Fun Kids Silly, Fun Kids Party, Fun Kids Pop Hits, Fun Kids Naps, Fun Kids Classics and Fun Kids Soundtracks, which join the existing stations Fun Kids and Fun Kids Junior.

Matt Deegan, Station Manager, Fun Kids, said: “We know how much children enjoy our regular Fun Kids and Fun Kids Junior channels, but we feel that as grown-ups have lots of options about what to tune in to, that kids should have that choice as well. We’re over the moon to be working with Lang Lang to help curate Fun Kids Classical and we are excited about bringing classical music to a young audience.”

Fun Kids Classical will play compositions already familiar to many young children, such as Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and popular works by the Beethoven and Grieg, and focus on new contemporary and diverse performers.

Recordings by Lang Lang, who has a foundation to help young people learn an instrument, will also feature. He comments, “I am passionate about giving children the opportunity to hear classical music from a young age, so it’s wonderful to work with Fun Kids Classical to help inspire a new generation of classical music lovers.”

All eight new Fun Kids stations will be available online and via smart speakers. Listen here.
