Did you get a new smart speaker for Christmas? You can use it to discover a whole world of digital radio.
Your new smart speaker gives you easy access to an entire world of digital radio, with all your favourite stations, plus extra digital-only stations and podcasts.
From music, comedy and entertainment, to sport, news – there are more great stations waiting for you than ever before.
Smart speakers are a great way to listen to radio. In fact, most of the audio listening which takes place on a smart speaker is to a radio station. With a smart speaker you just need to ask the speaker’s voice assistant to play your favourite station by name.
Your smart speaker comes ready-enabled to play radio through a default app. Or you can select your chosen radio app through your assistant’s control settings on your smartphone.
To listen to radio on your new Amazon Echo: Just say ‘Alexa, play…‘ and the station name you’d like.
To listen to radio on your Google Home: Just say ‘OK Google, play…’ and the station name you’d like.
To listen to radio on Apple HomePod: Just say ‘Hey Siri, play…’ and the station name you’d like.
To listen to radio on your Sonos speakers, select TuneIn from the control app, and select the station name you’d like. Or use the Add Service menu item and select Radioplayer.
Smart speakers are great for podcasts too. Using the wake word, ask your smart speaker to play the podcast by name, followed by your chosen app, and it will play the most recent episode.
You can also listen to radio and podcasts on your smart speaker using Bluetooth.
You’ll find additional skills from many stations in your speaker’s control app.
Love radio. Go Digital.
