Musician and broadcaster Clare Teal is joining Bauer’s Jazz FM to present The Clare Teal Show, a brand new 2-hour big band and swing show, every Sunday night.
Clare’s first show for Jazz FM will be on Sunday 24 January and follows her departure from BBC Radio 2 as announced at the end of last year.
On joining Jazz FM, Clare said: “I am beyond thrilled to be joining Jazz FM. To find a new home as excited as I am, to share the music I love with like-minded folks, is just brilliant. In addition to celebrating classic older big band, jazz, swing, latin, trad and whatever records I happen to be loving at the moment, I really want to focus on highlighting our fantastic and vibrant British big band, jazz, and swing scene which is as vital and relevant as ever.”
Clare Teal is one of the UK’s premier multiple award-winning female jazz vocalists of her generation. She has collaborated with Sir Van Morrison and Gregory Porter, and has multiple ensembles in which she performs with, from a single pianist or her trio via her mini big band, her 9-piece big band and her 17-piece Hollywood Orchestra.
Clare heads up a new look to Sunday evenings on Jazz FM which also sees a new 9-10pm stranded slot straight after her show that will feature documentaries and other short series across the year. The Sarah Ward Collection moves to Saturday evening from 6pm.
The Clare Teal Show will be available every Sunday evening from 7-9pm. Jazz FM is available nationally on DAB+, on smart speakers, online and via app, and on DAB in London.
