Absolute Radio 20s launches playing music exclusively from this decade

Bauer Media has today launched a new radio station dedicated to music from the 2020s. The new station from Absolute Radio is an exclusively digital offering, as part of Bauer Media’s digital audio innovation product strategy.

Absolute Radio 20s will play rock and alternative tracks from both established and emerging bands and artists, including Sam Fender, Lewis Capaldi, Blossoms, Courteeners, Freya Ridings, Haim, Michael Kiwanuka, Billie Eilish, Bombay Bicycle Club, Foals, Circa Waves and more. Listeners will be guided through the best new tracks by presenters Danielle Perry and Ross Buchanan – two new music aficionados well-known to audiences on the main Absolute Radio station.

To mark the launch, Biffy Clyro featured as the first guests on the station this morning, joining Danielle Perry to talk about their new album.

Having launched Absolute Radio 10s in November 2019, this new station becomes the ninth station in Absolute Radio’s growing network. The station will feature the strapline, New Music Matters evolved from the original station’s mantra that Real Music Matters

Speaking about the launch, Paul Sylvester, Content Director for Absolute Radio, said:

“Absolute Radio 20s is born out of insight and an understanding of our audiences, which has identified an opportunity for a distinctive new radio station currently not on offer. Set to be a haven for tastemakers who love to be the first to know about new music, this new launch offers something different for both new and existing listeners of the Absolute Radio family.”

Absolute Radio 20s will be available from 10am on Monday 24th February. Audiences can listen on radio app, smart speakers and at absoluteradio.co.uk.
