Digital Radio UK is launching a new on air campaign communicating how listeners can get a wealth of entertainment via DAB digital radio and smart speakers while they are at home during the current lockdown, supporting the efforts of broadcasters in encouraging their listeners to stay safe and stay home.
The new 40 second spot will run across national and local UK commercial radio stations from Thursday 22 April through until Thursday 7 May. The key message reassures listeners that whilst they currently cannot go out to concerts or to visit friends, they can fill their home with music, conversation and comedy, as well as the latest news, with a DAB digital radio or smart speaker.
While bricks and mortar stores remain closed during the health crisis, DAB digital radios and smart speakers are available online from retailers including John Lewis & Partners, Currys, Argos, and Amazon, who will deliver to customers’ home, and the call to action directs listeners to www.getdigitalradio.com for further information.

Digital Radio UK recorded the ad remotely with award-wining audio production company, Fresh Air Production, and with voice over artist, Vicki Blight.
The number of national digital stations has now expanded to 52 stations available on DAB/DAB+ with the number of national commercial stations having grown to 41, following the launch of ten new digital stations since January 2019 including Smooth Chill, Heart Dance, Capital XTRA Reloaded, and Scala Radio. All these national stations and hundreds of local stations are available on smart speakers.
