DRUK looks for new Communications Director
The Board of Digital Radio UK is looking to appoint a senior executive as Communications Director. The current incumbent is planning to leave the position at the end of May, after 5 years in the role. The DRUK Communications Director plays a key role in the development of digital radio in the UK, working in a small team and reporting to the DRUK CEO.
The position attends the DRUK Board and works closely with the Board representatives from BBC, Global, Bauer, Arqiva, Radio Centre, the SMMT and techUK.
The position also liaises with Government (DCMS), Ofcom, manufacturers, retailers and a wide range of stakeholders.
The primary role of the Communications Director is to build consumer awareness, understanding and appreciation of digital radio to support the growth of digital listening.
The person in the role will lead on the development and delivery of the industry digital radio consumer communications campaign across commercial radio and the BBC.
They will also lead on key areas such as media relations, consumer research, retail management, DAB coverage switch-on events and stakeholder coordination.
This is a high-profile opportunity for a communications professional to work in the radio sector, interacting with senior members of the major broadcasters.
The position is a full-time long term position, but we would be happy to consider someone wishing to work part-time or on a short-term transitional basis, for a minimum of a year.
The relevant experience required would be 5 years+ consumer communications and media management with evidence of working on complex multiyear projects with multiple stakeholders.
In addition to the salary, this position also is eligible for a performance-related bonus, pension contribution and private healthcare.
